Florida Association of Museums Foundation
Annual Conference and Exposition
The Florida Association of Museums meets once a year to share best practices,
learn about new trends in the museum field, foster collaborations among member organizations,
and provide hands-on learning experiences for museum professionals.
The conference is held in September, and moves to a different city each year.
The conference begins with pre-conference workshops, often held at museums in the host city,
providing attendees with behind-the-scene knowledge of how other museums work.
Keynote speakers bring a national perspective. Two and a half days of sessions provide opportunities
for professionals from around the state to present information about the work they are doing, and to learn from each other.
Most sessions are interactive with ample opportunity to have questions answered.
Evening events are hosted by the region’s museums and include visits to area museums where participants enjoy great food,
and the opportunity to view exhibitions and permanent installations.
The Expo Hall provides additional opportunities to identify tools, trends, and techniques.
