The Dali Museum, St. Petersburg
Florida Museums are the caretakers of Florida’s Cultural History – they preserve, interpret, and share. Now more than ever, Florida museums need to be prepared for disasters and emergencies. Many museums have suffered devastating losses over the last several years. Those that had a plan for how to ensure the safety of their staff and visitors, maintain their buildings and grounds, and minimize risk to the collections have been able to prepare for and respond to emergencies and disasters more quickly. This half-day workshop will share resources for creating a Pocket Response Plan TM and developing an emergency plan. In addition, national, state, and local emergency response representatives will provide information on resources, communication, and public assistance programs. Whether you have a plan in place or not, this is a great workshop to attend to learn more about these very important resources.
