About the Event: 

The Florida Association of Museums announces a “Museum Meetup” set for December 6, in St. Petersburg, Florida. It has been two years since we have been able to network in person with our museum FAMily, so we are extremely excited to be able to bring professionals together from throughout the state for this one-day event. The event will begin at Imagine Museum and move to the James Museum near St. Petersburg’s waterfront, and includes educational tours, networking, and an evening reception. We hope you will join us as we reconnect, share, and learn with our peers. 

Schedule: 

• 1:00 pm   FAM & FAMF Board meetings at Imagine Museum
• 3:00 pm   Museum Meetup begins at Imagine Museum with a Visit & Tour
• 4:30 pm   Transfer to the James Museum
• 5:00 pm   Museum Meetup continues at The James Museum with a Visit & Tour
• 6:00 pm   FAM Welcome to St. Petersburg by VIP Guests, followed by a Networking Reception at The James Museum
• 7:30 pm   Dinner on Your Own (suggested list to be provided)

About our Venues: 

Imagine Museum: Opened in 2018, the museum features hundreds of pieces of contemporary glass from around the world displayed in a 34,000-square-foot gallery. Take an immersive journey through Imagine Museum’s collection of contemporary art glass masterpieces that bring intricate shapes to life and magically transforms color and light. Imagine Museum showcases major works of contemporary American and International art by founding and leading artists in the field of studio glass and art expression. 

The James Museum of Western & Wildlife Art: Opened in 2018, the museum provides experiences that inspire human connection and transformation through art depicting the peoples, landscapes, and history of the American West, and wildlife of the world. More than 400 premiere works of art including sculpture, paintings and jewelry are on display in the museum’s 26,000 square feet of gallery space. The museum engages the community through programs and educational opportunities, for all ages, that bring our history to life and amplify voices that are not often at the forefront of mainstream western art.

Free parking is available at the Imagine Museum and at The James Museum parking is available on Levels 3 & 4 of the automated South Core Parking Garage located above the museum. Enter at 101 1st Ave S, St. Petersburg, FL 33701. The first hour in the garage is free and $1/hour after that. Transportation to The James Museum from the Imagine Museum will be provided and we will transport you back to your car as needed.
