Development Director

General Description: Under the direction of the Executive Director, the successful candidate will manage the donor, corporate sponsor and member database, develop and implement strategies for annual fundraising, membership, and sponsorship programs, maintain correspondence with current and prospective funding sources, advise on communication strategies for direct mail and e-mail newsletters, and perform general administrative duties and other tasks as required to achieve the overall goals of the organization.

Specific Key Tasks include:
 Develop and implement all aspects of the Development Program.
 Knowledge of the Albin Polasek Museum & Sculpture Gardens and its surrounding community.
 Proven skill in cultivating and soliciting donations, sponsorships, memberships.
 Assist in identifying and preparing grants and representing organization externally.
 Demonstrate ability to be creative and to communicate new and different approaches toward increasing donations, memberships, sponsorships and other funding sources.
 Strong verbal and written language skills.
 Ability to formulate new ideas/directions to achieve desired goals.
 Strong writing, computer and Internet research and communication skills.
 Proven ability to work in collaborative way within a small staff.
Other Tasks will include, but not be limited to:
 Utilize PastPerfect to process, manage and acknowledge memberships, donations, campaigns, sponsorships and general contact data base.
 Enter data, run weekly/monthly reports and reconcile financial records in PastPerfect and QuickBooks for Executive Director.
 Develop and maintain recognition program.
 Set up, manage and track ticket sales/attendance for special museum events and private rentals.
 Prepare special promotions and packages in partnership with Red Chair Project, Orlando Arts Getaways, ArtsFest and others.
 Advise on marketing committee efforts to meet fundraising goals.
 Export and prepare PastPerfect data for bulk mailings in coordination with Operations Director.
 Interact with the committees of the Board of Trustees.
 Answer main line phone and assist with general office management as needed.
Qualifications
Experience required: Significant experience (five or more years preferred) in fundraising development, demonstrated success in asking for and closing major gifts from individuals, foundations, corporations and others.

Skills required: Excellent customer service and time management skills are a must. Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, and generally comfortable with technology. Knowledge of PastPerfect and QuickBooks is desirable.
Salary: $40,000 - $45,000 — Commensurate with experience
