Volunteer Coordinator
Edison & Ford Winter Estates, Fort Myers, Florida

The Volunteer Coordinator at the Edison & Ford Winter Estates is responsible for the management, training and recruitment of approximately 200 volunteers. Together with the management staff, the Volunteer Coordinator assesses needs and develops volunteer programs on an ongoing basis for all departments of the Estates. Volunteer positions include Tour Docents for general group and school groups, Greeters, Information Booth, Living History, Garden Shoppe and Garden Staff, Museum Store, Curatorial, Office and Phone Support, Events, Weddings and Holiday Nights event. Volunteers at the Estates have been primarily adult placements; however there is a growing group of student volunteers with an opportunity for continued growth. Required skills include supervision, training, general administration, public speaking and group tour management. The candidate must be able to lead a general tour as well as to train volunteers. The candidate must be proficient in word processing, database, presentation software and spreadsheets. Must be a strong team player and must love people. Great staff and volunteers with a long track record of success. This is a full time position which will include some weekend and evening work as needed. Competitive salary based on degree and experience, good benefits package, paid vacation/sick leave. BA degree in History, Science or Education is required.
