The Flagler Museum opened to the public in 1960. The Museum is housed within Whitehall, Henry Flagler’s Gilded Age estate built in 1902 in Palm Beach, Florida. Located on beautiful Lake Worth (Intracoastal Waterway), the Museum is designated a National Historic Landmark and accredited by the American Alliance of Museums. About the Position:
This key management position oversees the maintenance and safety of the Museum, which includes a physical plant of 125,000 square feet and 8.5 acres of manicured grounds. The Facilities Manager oversees the Maintenance and Security staffs and must be available 24/7 in case of emergency. The Museum is staffed 24 hours a day and operates 12 months a year. The FM is responsible for vigorously maintaining a preventative and routine maintenance program for the Museum, which includes the collective work of staff as well as the services of over two dozen outside contract professionals.
Must have supervisory experience, skills and knowledge in budgeting, OHSA guidelines and regulations, climate control systems, maintenance issues, and be able to work successfully and enthusiastically as a member of a team. Must be able to manage multiple complex projects, communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, and plan and oversee emergency preparedness.
