Information Management Systems at the Harn Museum of Art: A Registrar’s Perspective

This presentation will provide an outline of information management systems used by the registration department at the Harn Museum of Art at the University of Florida. Basic filing systems will be discussed as well as recent efforts to update, digitize, and better coordinate information across the department and museum.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Jess Uelsmann is the Senior Registrar at the Harn Museum of Art at the University of Florida where she also previously served as associate registrar of exhibitions and loans after receiving her MA in Museum Studies at the University of Florida. She now leads a team of four registrars and 1 preparator in the registration/preparation department. Her time is primarily spent on permanent collection projects, including developing, writing and implementing policies.
